HSA Eligible

A Health Spending Account (HSA) is a group benefit that can help cover eligible mobility equipment and healthcare costs that are not covered by your private or government benefits plan. HSAs are not subject to federal income tax.

Scootaround carries a number of HSA-eligible products that can be paid for using your Health Spending Account. For additional information regarding your HSA account, please reach out to your employer or plan administrator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does an HSA work?

Your HSA account allows you to be reimbursed for health expenses that are not covered by your standard benefit plans. In order to receive full or partial reimbursement for the expense, you need to submit a claim to your plan administrator, including a receipt for the product/service and (if the expense was submitted elsewhere) and accompanying benefits statements.

Q: How do I know if my HSA plan covers a specific product?

Even though a product may be listed as HSA eligible in the Scootaround store, it is important to confirm eligibility with your employer or plan administrator. Scootaround is happy to provide you with a quote, product details, or any other information that your plan requires. You (or the plan holder) are responsible for submitting any necessary paperwork for reimbursement.

If you require additional product information to confirm eligibility, please reach out to our Sales Specialists at 1-844-664-7467 or [email protected].

Q: Which Scootaround products are HSA eligible?

Not all mobility devices and accessories from Scootaround are HSA eligible. You can find a list of eligible products by using the “HSA Eligible” filter in our online store. You can also look for the “HSA Eligible” tag on individual products under the “About this product” section.

Q: What if the product costs more than the funds in my HSA account?

Please call Scootaround toll-free at 1-844-664-7467 if the product you wish to purchase costs more than the funds available in your HSA account. Our sales team can split the payment so that a portion can be covered using your HSA reimbursement. The remainder will need to be paid out-of-pocket.

Q: Do my HSA funds expire?

HSA benefit dollars typically need to be used before the end of the plan year, with a 60-day grace period that allows claims to be submitted up to the end of February. Please contact your employer or plan administrator for information about when your funds need to be used by.
